Abstract

This research analyzes whether the implemented strategies have succeeded in creating effective spaces for youth civic participation, taking into account sustainability and issues of public interest such as politics, local problems, and community service. Its importance lies in understanding the role of young people as key actors in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 16, which aims to foster just and inclusive societies. At the international level, although policies exist to strengthen youth participation, barriers persist that hinder its development, such as a lack of effective representation. In Peru, despite the existence of a National Youth Strategy, youth participation in decision-making is limited by a lack of institutional coordination and adequate resources. The active participation of young people is essential for consolidating democracy and development.
