The article provides a reflection on Hannah Arendt ́s concepts of power and violence, analyzed from a communicative perspective. Throughout the document, power, defined as a possibility, is grounded on that dimension of human beings exist-ing only when social relations exist. To that effect, we argue in favor of a definition of power as generating in the interaction between communicating subjects, and namely, in being together the ones with the others, in seeing and hearing each other.
