Modelo de preconceito de peso internalizado da imagem corporal, comportamento alimentar e controlo fotográfico

i) introdução: Está provado que a internalização do enviesamento do peso (WBI) potencia a insatisfação com a imagem corporal (BID), os comportamentos alimentares de risco (REB) e o controlo da imagem corporal em fotografias (BICP); ii) objetivo: Testar um modelo que prediz diretamente o BID, e indiretamente o REB e o BICP através do BID, utilizando a análise de caminhos; iii) metodologia: A amostra incluiu 187 adolescentes mexicanos, com uma idade média de 13,26 anos. Foram utilizadas quatro escalas validadas em espanhol e para adolescentes. Utilizou-se a análise de trajetória para testar o modelo estrutural. Para o efeito, procedeu-se a uma análise de grupo único e a uma análise multigrupo. Ambas as análises foram efectuadas utilizando o método dos mínimos quadrados sem distribuição assintótica; iv) resultados: O modelo teve um bom ajuste e foi validado na amostra de grupo único. A análise multigrupo revelou que o modelo é adequado para ambos os sexos, mas não é invariante. v) conclusões: O modelo em que o WBI prediz diretamente o BID; e indiretamente o REB e o BICP através do BID, é validado numa amostra de adolescentes mexicanos, tendo maior capacidade preditiva nas mulheres.
